About the competition: The Innovation Awards allows the employees of VINCI companies to develop their innovation potential by encouraging their initiatives, whether as individuals, in a team or in collaboration with outside partners.
In 2017, the VINCI Innovation Awards opened to include students (and young graduates) from all over the world, who were invited to form teams and innovate to meet the challenges of the city of tomorrow.
Achievement: International Region First Place in “VINCI Innovation Student Contest".
REP Students: Jordan Lam Yu Cheng, Gan Jia Hui Nicole, Chin Zhi Xian and Ang Jian Hui Joel
Proposal: An idea of shared space based on augmented reality to allow people to freely express their view in the form of art and graffiti.
Description: Our REP Students had come up with an idea of shared space based on augmented reality to allow people to freely express their view in the form of art and graffiti.
Since the competition was for VINCI, a private public partnership, our students had incorporated this idea into their business cycle where they can do impact testing by posting future projects into visual space and collecting public sentiments. Citizens can also suggest public amenities improvements and vote for projects and artworks that they like. This bridges the gap between VINCI and the citizens of France.
Mentors from VINCI were guiding our students along and gave them much insightful feedback in turning their idea into a viable commercial platform.
