REP student: Sean Chua
Description: “Sean Chua from the Renaissance Engineering Programme was awarded “Highly Commended” for his Final Year Project (FYP) research paper under the Engineering & Built Environment Category (2015). This is awarded to the top 10% of submission in each category. Given by the Undergraduate Awards (UA), it is the world’s pan-discipline academic awards programme that recognises the coursework and projects of the most innovative undergraduate students. For the same work, he was also selected to give an oral presentation during the International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR) 2015. This is a prestigious undergraduate research conference for students to showcase their cutting-edge research to a global audience. He has also received a similar award in 2014 for another research proposal done during his exchange year at UC Berkeley. His curiosity in those research topics led him to write a scientific review paper that has recently been accepted for publication. Sean has graduated with good honours with a specialisation in Bioengineering and is currently working at the Land Transport Authority.
