The Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (SCELSE) is a unique interdisciplinary Research Centre of Excellence (RCE), funded by National Research Foundation, Ministry of Education, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and National University of Singapore (NUS). Hosted by NTU in partnership with NUS, SCELSE is linking new insights from the life sciences with expertise from emerging technologies in engineering and natural sciences to understand, harness and control microbial biofilm communities.
We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our research team as Research Assistants. This job requires performing microbiological assays and genetic manipulation of the Gram-positive bacterium Enterococcus faecalis. In addition, the job involves assisting in the daily operations of the lab including procurement, database management, and helping others in the lab when necessary. The job also requires strong oral and written communication skills, specifically in the area of scientific report writing and project presentation.
Two vacancies are available. Minimum 6 months experience working in a microbiology lab. The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in biology, microbiology, or a related field. Candidates with laboratory experience working with Enterococcus faecalis, bacterial genetics and cloning in Gram-positive bacteria are preferred.
