Established in 1981, the SCHOOL OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING (EEE) is one of the founding Schools of the Nanyang Technological University. Built on a culture of excellence, the School is renowned for its high academic standards and strong tradition in research. To support teaching and cutting-edge research, EEE is host to 11 research centres and more than 50 laboratories, which are well-equipped with modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment. With about 200 faculty members and an enrolment of more than 4,000, of which about 1,300 are graduate students, it is one of the largest EEE schools in the world.
A candidate for a Research Associate position is sought, who will be placed in my project on “Distributed Adaptive Urban Traffic Signal Control based on V2X Information Infrastructure”, which has started in May 2015, and will last for four years.
- The candidate is expected to have at least a master degree in the areas of systems engineering or software engineering with a strong background in mathematical modelling and simulation.
- Past experience in urban traffic signal control and software simulation (via tools such as VISSIM) of large-scale networks will be highly sought.
- Some knowledge on operation planning, scheduling and control with sufficient understanding of optimization methods (in particular, mathematical programming methods) and relevant computational tools will be a plus.
- The candidate is expected to undertake research on modelling a large urban traffic network, and implement computationally efficient traffic light scheduling algorithms within a V2X infrastructure.
