Research Associate (Electrical Machine Control)

Established in 1981, the SCHOOL OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING (EEE) is one of the founding Schools of the Nanyang Technological University. Built on a culture of excellence, the School is renowned for its high academic standards and strong tradition in research. To support teaching and cutting-edge research, EEE is host to 11 research centres and more than 50 laboratories, which are well-equipped with modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment. With about 200 faculty members and an enrolment of more than 4,000, of which about 1,300 are graduate students, it is one of the largest EEE schools in the world.

The job is in the area of design of novel high speed electrical machines. A candidate in a suitable field is sought, who is anticipated to play a crucial role in electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical design and analysis for high speed electrical machines.The salary is competitive including a base salary proportional to the candidate's research experience, and an annual performance bonus. The first contract is for one year, and can be renewed up to three years.

 

Requirement

• Minimum master degree in the Electrical  and Electronics Engineering
• Strong background in electrical machine control
• Substantial electrical machine design knowledge and experience
• Experience with electromagnetic analysis of electrical machines and thermal performance estimation
• Good command of oral and written English
