Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Green Humanities

‚ÄčThe School of Humanities at NTU Singapore pursues disciplinary excellence and promotes interdisciplinary teaching and research. The School aims to equip our students with up-to-date knowledge, critical thinking competence, research expertise, and communication skills to enable them to realise their potential and aspirations and to make lasting contributions to Singapore and beyond. 

The School of Humanities invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor under the interdisciplinary theme of Green Humanities. Candidates with expertise in any of the School's subject areas (i.e., Chinese, English, Linguistics, History or Philosophy) are welcome to apply. A strong record of research and publications in Green or Environmental Humanities, with a focus on such issues as climate change, the anthropocene or environmental ethics will be an advantage.

Candidates should possess a PhD and demonstrate a strong track record for research as well as a commitment to teaching and administrative service. Selection will be based on evidence of potential for high-quality teaching and research. 

The usual workload includes teaching two courses per semester, conducting scholarly research and contributing to university services. NTU offers competitive annual salaries and strong support for faculty research, including grants for travel and conferences.

Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package.
