The strategic focus of the Office is to attract and build faculty and staff talent to meet the needs of the University. This involves aligning HR policies, practices, systems and processes to support the University’s corporate vision, mission and goals.
We also aim to provide value-added HR services which contribute to the goals and objectives of the Schools and Departments and to create a work environment that values people, performance and productivity. Our mission, simply put, is to ensure that the University has the right talent in order to achieve both organizational excellence and employee success.
As the university sector changes, appropriate HR strategies and tactical responses are needed to meet the challenges arising from NTU’s strategic and growth objectives. The performance bar is raised and a sense of responsibility and accountability are expected from all employees. Life-long learning, continuous improvement, teamwork, changes and transformations are integral to work-life at the University. All these are balanced with an emphasis on values, family and community life which are integral to the character and fabric of life at NTU.
OHR is a strategic partner to the Schools, Institutes, Departments, faculty, researchers and staff members. I am confident that with the leadership of the Council, the President and Faculty, and Administration leaders, we can all contribute to build NTU into a global university of excellence, one in which we can all be proud of and contribute to, if we stay focused and excel, as an individual and as a team.
