The strategic focus of the Office is to build and engage the human capital of the University. This involves aligning HR policies, practices, systems and processes to support the University’s vision, mission and goals.
We also provide value-added HR services which contribute to the goals and objectives of the Colleges, Schools, Autonomous Institutes and Departments and help to create a work environment which values people, performance and productivity. Our mission, simply put, is to ensure that the University has the right talent, in the right place and at the right time to achieve both organizational excellence and employee success.
As the university sector changes, appropriate HR strategies and tactical responses are needed to meet the challenges arising from NTU’s strategic and growth objectives. The performance bar is raised and ownership, responsibility and accountability are expected from all employees. Life-long learning, continuous improvement, collegiality and teamwork plus changes and transformations are integral to work-life balance at the University. All these are buttressed with an emphasis on values and community life which are integral to the character and fabric of life at NTU.
I am confident that with the leadership of the Board of Trustees, the President, Provost, Academic and Administration leaders, we can all contribute to build NTU into a global university of excellence, one in which we can all be proud of and contribute to, if we stay focused and excel, as an individual and as a team.
