The terms and conditions of service for the above appointments are highlighted in brief below and are subject to rules and regulations governing the various schemes, and to changes as may be determined by the University from time to time.
Tenureship of Employment
Staff of the University are generally appointed to the permanent establishment of the University subject to a three-month probation.
Remuneration
The University adopts a flexible wage system. Staff are paid salaries based on the salary range of the posts to which they have been appointed.
In addition, 13th month Annual Wage Supplement (AWS) payable in December of each year.
The payment of the AWS is not a contractual commitment. The University reserves the right to vary or withdraw them at anytime without prior notice.
Central Provident Fund (CPF)
Staff who are Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents are required to contribute to their Central Provident Fund (CPF) in accordance with the CPF Act.

Medical and Dental Benefits
The University has implemented the Flexible Benefits Scheme for eligible employees and their dependants. The Flexible Benefits Scheme provides a series of group insurance plans, dental benefit, as well as “Flex Dollars” for employees to select their benefits that are catered to their individual needs.
Some Other Fringe Benefits
- Child Care Centre
The University has a Child Care Centre which is conveniently located within the Yunnan Garden Campus. It is set up specially to cater to the needs of staff. Staff members may apply for the enrolment of their children who are between the ages of 3 and 6 years old in the Centre, at the prevailing enrolment fees.
- Sports & Recreation Centre
The University has also a Sports & Recreation Centre with a wide range of sports facilities including an Olympic size swimming pool. Staff are eligible to make use of the sports facilities by paying a nominal fee.
Working Hours of Management & Support Positions
The University adopts the 5-Day work week for its management & support staff except for those who are required to perform shift work. Their working hours are as follows:

Transport Arrangement
A large number of non-teaching staff in the University commute to and from work by private chartered buses by paying a monthly fee. These buses travel to most parts of island along designated routes with designated pick-up points.
