Campus Map
The map of the University is available on http://www.street-directory.com/ntu. You may take a cab from the Changi International Airport to the University, and claim for reimbursement of the cab fare by obtaining a receipt from the cab driver.
Transit Accommodation
Upon your arrival, you will be provided transit accommodation of up to 4 days (i.e. 4D3N), usually at the Nanyang Executive Centre. If your application for long-term accommodation on-campus is successful, arrangements will be made for you to view available units during this time.
Reporting for Duty
Upon your arrival in Singapore, please make your way to the designated transit accommodation. After you have rested, you will report to the Office of Human Resources to settle the administrative matters.
When reporting to the Office of Human Resources, please bring along the following items :
- your original University degree scrolls or academic records;
- original cards or records as proof of professional membership or qualifications, if any;
- your and your family’s passports (if applicable), the disembarkation cards, and some cash for payment to MOM. These are required by the MOM for the issuance of the Employment/Dependant Pass(es);
- The unused portion of the airline tickets; and
- A colour passport-size photograph of yourself, for our records.
The Office will also guide you on how to seek reimbursement for your air tickets, expenses for the pre-employment medical examination and transportation of personal effects (if you are using your own mover).
Thereafter, a “buddy”, usually a colleague assisting in your orientation, will accompany you back to the School for further induction.
Detailed instructions regarding the above will be provided to you nearer the date of your arrival in Singapore.
University Staff Card
A University Staff Card will be issued to you when you assume duty.
Computer Account
You will be given a computer network account with username and password for you to access the Internet, electronic mailing services, personal portal and e-services (StaffLink).
Orientation
You will be given an orientation package when you report at the Office of Human Resources. The package contains information useful for your work/stay in the University.
