Applications are invited for appointment to the following positions:
1. Research Fellow in Polymeric Biomaterials
a. Strong background in materials and scaffold fabrication for soft tissue engineering.
b. Experience in stem cell related research for soft tissues particularly heart tissue is an advantage.
c. The successful candidate is required to oversee the progress of various related projects and assist in student
supervision.
d. Ph.D in Chemical Engineering/ Materials Science or Bioengineering.
2. Research Fellow in Biological Materials / Biomimetics
a. Strong background in protein chemistry, sequencing, and purification procedures (affinity
chromatography, HPLC, PAGE), and/or biophysical techniques (DSC, fluorescence spectroscopy, CD,
AFM force spectroscopy, etc)
b. Experience in molecular biology techniques such as PCR and recombinant expression of proteins is
an advantage.
c. The successful candidate will assist in the establishment of a new interdisciplinary lab devoted to
biological materials, with emphasis on the links between biochemistry and the biophysical and
biomechanical properties of structural tissues.
d. Ph.D in materials science (biomaterials), bioengineering, biophysics, or biological sciences.
3. Research Fellow in Polymer Processing
a. Strong background in polymer materials and processing
b. Experience in handling processing and characterization equipments eg extruder, injection molding, thermal and
mechanical analyzers.
c. The successful candidate is required to oversee the progress of various related projects and assist in student
supervision.
d. Ph.D in Chemical Engineering/ Materials Science.
Salary will be attractive, and commensurate with experience. The programme will attract researchers world-wide and the research atmosphere at NTU is diverse and exciting.
