Associate Scientist / Research Scientist
You will be part of a team conducting cutting-edge research in the field of semiconductor optoelectronics. You will work on developing semiconductor lasers for various applications, using both conventional and novel material systems.
Requirements
○ Good PhD degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related discipline from a reputable university. Candidates with Masters degrees and highly relevant experience and skills will also be considered. (Students about to complete their PhD/Masters degree and those with industry experience in relevant fields will be considered too).
○ Experience in either or both of the following areas is required:
- MOCVD growth and cleanroom processing of III-As/P material
- NIR/MIR semiconductor laser physics
○ In addition, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Familiarity with materials characterisation techniques
- Familiarity with high-speed, narrow linewidth VCSEL design
○ The candidate should:
- Be able to work both independently and in a team in conducting R&D work
- Possess a high level of drive and initiative
- Be pro-active in resolving technical research issues
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as good interpersonal skills
Entry level and starting salaries will depend on candidate's qualification and experience.
