The Institute invites dynamic and competent engineers interested in research and development work to fill the following positions:
NTU is now seeking applicants with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) background for a promising research project funded by government agency.
1. CFD Engineer/Simulation Specialist
Responsibilities:
The qualified candidate is expected to
• Work closely with a dynamic project team consisting of researchers from the University and industrial collaborators
• Perform intensive CFD simulations for the sake of optimizing a device relevant to energy-efficient HVAC design
• Collaborate with experimentalist to effectively improve the product design
• Carry out energy simulations for a proposed HVAC system
• Conduct design analyses and prepare reports and submissions
• Publish the research efforts in prestigious international conferences/journals
Requirements:
• Master or PhD Degree in Mechanical/Building Services/Aerospace Engineering or Building Science
• Deep knowledge in numerical methods and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
• Understand the fundamentals of HVAC design
• Hands-on experience in in-house CFD code development is preferable
• Familiar with Fortran, C or C++ programming languages
• Hands-on experience in well-known commercial CFD packages, such as FLUENT, will be considered as advantage
• A good team player
• Can work independently
2. Project Officers
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Materials /Basic Sciences or equivalent. Candidates need to demonstrate a high level of motivation in contributing to clean energy research, and are also expected to possess strong academic background and communication skills.
3. Research Fellows/ Senior Research Fellows
This position requires a PhD in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Materials /Basic Sciences or equivalent. Candidates are expected to be experienced in clean energy research, strong analytical and leadership skills, and expected to oversee and guide projects and also assist in student supervision.
4. Research Engineers / Senior Research Engineer/ Program Manager
This position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Materials /Basic Sciences or equivalent. Industry experience in clean energy solutions, problem solving skills, project management experience, and abilities to interface with industry partners are essential.
Candidates for the above posts are sought with experience in industry or academia, in the areas of:
- Building energy efficiency and conservation – architectural design, mechanical systems, electrical systems and controls, building-to-grid infrastructure, HVAC, building-integrated solar energy systems.
- Wind and Marine renewable energy – design of wind turbine, composites and bond characterization, drive train and tribology, generator design, power electronics and controls, power system, machine and structural health monitoring.
- Maritime clean energy – green shipping and green port initiatives, CO2 reduction technologies, energy efficiency, alternative fuel technologies
- Electromobility - coordinate research and development work on electric vehicle technologies, power electronics, embedded systems, and system design
