Requesting for Documents Not Found In Our Collection

Document procurement / photocopy request service is provided by the Information Services Division to obtain copies of documents (i.e. journal articles, conference papers, patents, standards, technical papers, theses, etc.) not found in our library's collection.

Please check the requests against the NTU Library Catalogue before submitting the request form.

Note: All requests for photocopy of materials must comply with the provisions of the Copyright Act and are restricted to materials for the purpose of teaching, private study / research, or University-related research.

This service is available to NTU academic & research staff, all students, and, corporate, graduate & personal members.

Charges

The fees chargeable vary according to each supplier. We will place order with a particular supplier depending on availability of the requested document. The price per article (<50 pages) ranges from S$10 to S$30. Technical reports, theses and patents are more expensive and fees chargeable usually cannot be estimated.

Payment

You may select 1 of the following options:

Charge to your School/Division teaching material vote. Please obtain necessary approval from your Dean or authorised staff prior to submitting request. Please provide the relevant Account number to charge to on the form.

Charge to your applied research project fund if the requested document is for a particular research project. Please provide your Applied Research Account number (max. 16 digits) on the form.

Pay by Cashcard, NETS or cheque (payable to "Nanyang Technological University") when you collect the document.

Charge to the Library. The Library will pay for the procurement of documents requested by eligible staff and students subject to request quotas, availability of allocated Library funds and the requester's access to research funds. The Library will only subsidize requests for students and staff who have no access to research/teaching materials funds and must declare that they are using the requested documents for their research, teaching or project work.


 

How to Request for this Service?

Please fill in one form for each request, only completed form will be processed.

The request form includes a copyright declaration. Document requested is to be used for personal research or for a non-commercial purpose. The requester shall be liable for infringement of copyright should his / her declaration be false.

NTU academic / administrative staff can submit the request electronically via StaffLink (Resource Request > Library Services >Document Procurement/Photocopy Request).

For SIMTech staff, final year / graduate student (self-payment) and Library associate member (corporate, graduate and personal member), please use the following Photocopy Request forms (MS97 Word format) accordingly (Note: save and email the form as attachment file to documentdelivery@ntu.edu.sg):

When and Where to Collect the Document?

The turnaround time for the supplier to supply the document to us varies according to each supplier. The average turnaround time ranges from 1-3 weeks. However, thesis usually takes a longer time, from 1 to 3 months.

When the document arrives, you will be notified through email (as stated in your Photocopy Request Form). Please collect the document at the Lee Wee Nam Library Loan Counter.

Collection time:

Mondays to Fridays: 8.45 am - 5.15 pm
Saturdays: 9.00 am - 4.00 pm
