Recommending Titles for Purchase (Book)

Before making a recommendation,

  • Please check the Library Catalogue to ensure that the recommended title is not available in the library collection.
  • Please include your full name, department / school and matriculation / staff card number in your request. If you need the material urgently or would like to be informed when the material is available, please indicate as such.

A request can normally be fulfilled within a period of 3 months.

How to Submit Your Recommendation?

There are currently three ways to submit your recommendations to the Library:

1. Use StaffLink (available to STAFF only)

  • Steps for using the Book Recommendation Form from StaffLink are as follows:
  • input your Network User Name and Password (if prompt)
  • click Resource Request
  • select Library Services > Book Recommendation
  • complete the form
  • click Send Form

2. Email
Send a email to Acquisitions Division at acquisition@ntu.edu.sg

3. Internal Mail
Mark on publishers' catalogues, brochures, leaflets or booklists and forward them to the Acquisitions Division, Lee Wee Nam Library.

If you have any queries regarding your recommendation, you can contact Acquisitions Division at 6790-5214. 

What Information is Required?

Information about yourself and the nature of your request.
For all requests, please provide your full name and department / school and matriculation / staff card number. Additionally, please indicate whether you would like to be notified when the requested item becomes available (To inform) or whether these items are urgently required (Urgent).

Please also rank your requests using the following criteria:

  • A- must have
  • B- good to have
  • C- if funds allow

Information on the item
Please provide as much of the following bibliographic information as known :

  • Author/editor
  • Title
  • Place of publication
  • Publisher or producer
  • Date of publication
  • ISBN
  • Edition
  • Price
