Rules
- Borrowers can loan out library materials accordingly to their borrowing privileges: Staff | Student | Library Associate Member
- Borrowers must show their membership card when borrowing books.
- Borrowers are responsible for all loans made out in their names.
- Borrowers must not borrow books on behalf of other members.
- Borrowers must not remove books from the Library unless the loan transactions are captured on the online system.
- Borrowers are held responsible for mutilations found in library books when items are returned. They must check and report any mutilations found in library books before borrowing them.
- Course Reserve materials must be borrowed once they have been taken out from the Reserves Collection.
- Course Reserve materials may be borrowed overnight 2 hours before the Service Desk closes on weekdays and at 10 am on Saturdays.
Procedure for borrowing
Open-shelf books & Periodicals (bound accessioned back issues)
- Bring the book or periodical to the self-check machine.
- Slide your library card down the slot.
- Place the book on the cradle.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Collect your receipt and check date dues.
Reserves Collection
- At Business Library and Lee Wee Nam Library, use the self-check machines to borrow the course reserve materials. For other libraries, bring the book to the Service Desk.
- Hand the item over to the counter staff, together with your library membership card.
- Wait for counter staff to process the item and stamp the due date.
- When the book and your card are returned to you, the book is considered borrowed by you.
Periodicals (current/unaccessioned back issues)
- Bring the periodical to the Service Desk.
- Ask counter staff for a loan slip to fill in.
AV (Audio-Visual) Materials
- Note the call number from the Library Catalogue and proceed to the Business Library loan counter.
- Give the call number of the requested AV material to the counter staff, together with your library membership card.
- Wait for the counter staff to capture the loan.
- When the AV material and your card are returned to you, the item is considered borrowed by you.
