Book Transfer Service

Library members may request for books that are on hold for them to be sent to an alternative library for pick-up. The participating libraries are:

  • Art, Design and Media Library (ADM Library)
  • Asian Communication Resource Centre (ACRC)
  • Business Library (BUS Library)
  • Chinese Library (CHN Library
  • Humanities & Social Sciences Library  (HSS Library)
  • Lee Wee Nam Library (LWN Library)
  • Wang Gungwu Library(WGW Library)

Types of materials

The following items are excluded in this transfer service:

  • RBR titles
  • current periodicals (unaccessioned)
  • audio visual materials
  • NTU theses

Turnaround Time

Service is available from Mon - Fri only (excluding public holidays).

Delivery & collection time

LWN items to other libraries

Monday - Thursday

During office hours

Within two working days

Friday, Saturday and public holidays

Will be processed only the next working day

Within two working days

ACRC, ADM, BUSL, CHNL, HSS and WGW items to other branches and vice versa

Monday - Thursday

During office hours

Friday, Saturday and public holidays

How to Request for this Service?

If your hold is ready for your collection, you will receive a book pick-up notice via email.

Upon receiving this notice, please forward the email to the Access Services Division at circulation@ntu.edu.sg  to initiate a transfer. 

Indicate your designated library for item pick-up  

  • Art, Design and Media Library (ADM Library)
  • Asian Communication Resource Centre (ACRC)
  • Business Library (BUS Library)
  • Chinese Library (CHN Library
  • Humanities & Social Sciences Library  (HSS Library)
  • Lee Wee Nam Library (LWN Library)
  • Wang Gungwu Library(WGW Library)

If it is an urgent transfer, please call the branch that owns the item and make arrangements for pick-up with branch staff.

You will be notified by e-mail when the item arrives at your designated library.

If you are unable to pick up the item within the stipulated period, it will be sent back to the original library or put on hold for the next user.
