Facilities Planning Division

Aim

To create an attractive, energetic and supportive library environment for NTU Library users and Library staff.

Functions

The functions of the Facilities Planning Division (FPD) are :

  1. Conceptualization
    • Develop concepts and future scenarios for library building, facilities, services, space usage, etc., synthesizing from stakeholders' input, environmental scanning and other analysis
       
  2. Communication
    • Provide channels and communication mechanism for stakeholders to participate and be actively engaged in the conceptualization, development and planning of the building and facilities
       
  3. Analysis & Data Collection
    • Collect data relating to the design, planning and implementation of library building and facilities
    • Data to be collected from analysis of stakeholder requirements, literature searches and acquired from external sources
       
  4. Specification
    • Develop and write design and building briefs and functional specifications relating to building and facility development
       
  5. Planning
    • Develop detailed plans to execute objectives and goals of the library development programme
    • Manage projects, processes, resources (budget and manpower) relating to the building of libraries and library facilities
       
  6. Implementation
    • Coordinate, execute and monitor all work leading to the development and establishment of all libraries and facilities
    • Liaise with internal and external parties
       
  7. Public relations
    • Liaise and work with Library Promotion Division in managing the public relation aspects of library building development programme
