Subject librarian responsibilities :
- Develop library collection and subject resources to support learning needs and increase quality research output.
- Develop and conduct information literacy training and subject tutorials to help students become proficient information seekers and users.
- Provide consultation, reference and advisory services on information searching and resources.
- Act as library liaison person to School of Art, Design and Media.
Operational Responsibilities :
- Promote NTU Library and its rich resources to the NTU community so that users have a high awareness of the resources, services and facilities offered by the Library.
- Engaging users through the use of social media tools.
Work Experience :
After completing his National Service in 2006, Soma joined a regional business process management service provider, where he was based in a multinational company. He joined NTU Library in 2007, as a library officer in the Art, Design & Media Library.
In June 2011, he took on a new role as Assistant Librarian at the Library Promotion Division. He is also the art librarian for media-related subjects covering animation, digital film, interactive media and photography.
