Subject librarian responsibilities:

  1. Develop library collection and subject resources to support learning and research and to promote science literacy.
     
  2. Develop and conduct training on information literacy and specialised resources to help students become proficient seekers and users of information.
     
  3. Provide consultation, reference, and advisory services on information searching and literature review.
     

Operational Responsibilities :

  1. Strategize and plan the development of Science Library and coordinate outreach activities to increase users’ awareness of library services and resources.
     
  2. Oversee the development of instructional programmes that equip users with research skills needed at different stages of the scholarly communication process and to navigate the complex information environment.
     
  3. Strategize,  plan and coordinate programmes and activities to increase visibility of NTU intellectual output on Digital Repository at NTU (DR-NTU)  for the widest possible dissemination of knowledge and  sharing of research expertise.
     

Work Experience :

Before joining NTU, Samantha worked as a public librarian and reference librarian in the National Library.  At NTU, she started out as an acquisitions librarian and proceeded on to serve as a circulation librarian.   Until 2008, she headed Circulation Services and now oversees the Library’s scholarly communication programme and the Science Library.
