Subject librarian responsibilities:
- Develop library collection and subject resources to support learning and research and to promote science literacy.
- Develop and conduct training on information literacy and specialised resources to help students become proficient seekers and users of information.
- Provide consultation, reference, and advisory services on information searching and literature review.
Operational Responsibilities :
- Strategize and plan the development of Science Library and coordinate outreach activities to increase users’ awareness of library services and resources.
- Oversee the development of instructional programmes that equip users with research skills needed at different stages of the scholarly communication process and to navigate the complex information environment.
- Strategize, plan and coordinate programmes and activities to increase visibility of NTU intellectual output on Digital Repository at NTU (DR-NTU) for the widest possible dissemination of knowledge and sharing of research expertise.
Work Experience :
Before joining NTU, Samantha worked as a public librarian and reference librarian in the National Library. At NTU, she started out as an acquisitions librarian and proceeded on to serve as a circulation librarian. Until 2008, she headed Circulation Services and now oversees the Library’s scholarly communication programme and the Science Library.
