Subject librarian responsibilities :
- Responsible for developing and maintaining critical information resources that are relevant to the learning, teaching and research activities of target user groups.
- Provide timely guidance and advisory services so that users are more aware of available resources and are able to find and access these resources more proficiently.
- Cultivate and maintain close working relationship with user groups through regular user-oriented activities such as training, orientation, meetings and events.
Operational Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the management and development of the Art, Design & Media Library operations and collections so that the information needs of academic staff and students are well supported with quality resources, user-centred services and facilities.
- Strategize, plan and coordinate outreach activities for the Art, Design & Media Library so that users are more aware of library services and resources.
- Plan and coordinate the implementation of new multi-division initiatives in library and information services that support our users’ research and learning activities.
- Plan and roll out policies and programmes that support the improved performance of library staff.
- Coordinate action plans and activities of collaborative projects between international and local partner libraries that are beneficial for the library and university.
Work Experience:
Phoebe joined the National Library Board (NLB) as a public librarian in 1997 after a stint as a civilian officer in the Singapore Police Force.
She left NLB to pursue a Master in Business Information Technology (Information Management) at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia in 2000. After returning to Singapore, she spent 3 years with a financial advisory firm managing their corporate information and compliance matters.
Phoebe joined NTU Library in 2006 as a library promotion librarian working on promoting the library to its community through a variety of marketing and outreach activities and events.
She joined the newly formed Services Development Division in 2010. She took over as Head, Art, Design & Media Library in March 2012.
