About Myself :
I have great interest and passion in the development and implementation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools in our daily lives. ICT tools do not only aid our daily work, but also allow us to learn new knowledge from the results of the implementation, such as the World Wide Web. My interests have grown from a multimedia design background into information services with the advent of ICT tools.
In my free time, I am actively involved in experimenting with Opensource software, such as Wordpress, Joomla and FAQ system. I have implemented a couple of Opensource projects in my previous careers, such as building an information sharing portal and medical e-learning training materials (including A/V and multimedia production) for the healthcare industry.
During my National Service, I was involved in the SAF’s Self-Paced On Time On Need (SPOT-ON) Project for my unit, School of Infantry Specialists. I have also volunteered for a young professional relief mission (Gawad Kalinga) in Iloilo, Philippines, organised by Mercy Relief, SOKA (Singapore) and Mendaki in December 2004. During that mission, I was interviewed on one of Suria’s current affair programmes, "Detik", as one of the young volunteers for this mission and was recognised as an “Ambassador of Good Will” by the Municipality of Conception, Iloilo, Philippines.
