Subject librarian responsibilities :
- Develop library collection in assigned subject areas so that staff and students have access to resources for their learning, teaching and research activities.
- Coordinate subject resources to facilitate learning, teaching and research activities of NTU.
- Provide instruction on literature searching and information skills in subject area, so that library resources & services can be used effectively by users for learning, teaching & research.
- Act as liaison person for the School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences to better support the learning, teaching and research activities of the school.
Operational Responsibilities :
- Management of library subscribed electronic journals so that staff and students can access the electronic resources for their learning, teaching and research needs.
Work Experience :
Li Keng was a Physics teacher in a junior college for about four years. She left the teaching service to pursue a Master in Science (Information Studies) at Nanyang Technological University.
After completing her course, she joined NTU Library as a Digital Resources Librarian in 2005. She was in charge of updating and maintaining the NTU Library website, as well as managing the access of subscribed electronic resources of the library.
In 2008, she moved to the Serials and Electronic Resources Division to devote more of her time on the management of subscribed electronic resources. Playing dual role in NTU library, she is also the Physics Librarian. She supports the Physics and Applied Physics Division of the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and takes care of the information needs of staff and students of the division.
