  • Quality management in academic libraries
  • Personnel management and staff training and development
  • Learning and teaching and information literacy

About myself:

Originally from Brisbane, Australia, I came to NTU by way of NUS Libraries and UNSW Asia Library Services of which I was Director. The challenge of founding a new university library lured me from UNSW, Sydney where I had worked in senior positions in the Library in services and general management, personnel, staff development and collection development and acquisitions. My early career was with the National Library of Australia, Canberra, principally in cataloguing and reference in the Orientalia section. Along the way I have taught aspects of librarianship from para- professional to higher degree levels and in continuing education. I have given conference papers, locally and abroad, facilitated seminars, served on professional and academic committees and task forces and published in a range of professional areas. I am married with an adult family and enjoy the visual and performing arts, travelling and recreational walking and swimming.
