Subject librarian responsibilities :

  1. Develop library collection so that users have available relevant and critical resources to support their research & learning activities.
     
  2. Develop, add, update and review organization of resources in Subject Room so  that users are able to find, understand and use online information resources more effectively and efficiently.
     
  3. Provide instruction on literature searching and information skills in subject area so that users have improved information seeking and usage skills.
     
  4. Provide consultation, reference and advisory services on information searching and resources so that users are able to resolve their problems in information search and use.
     
  5. Update and maintain content of subject library blog regularly so that users are aware of new library resources and services.
     
  6. Respond to user feedback, complaints and queries relating to assigned subject responsibilities so as to provide service recovery to re-engage users.
     
  7. Act as liaison person for the Division of Chemistry and Biological Chemistry in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences so as to provide prompt support to users.
     

Operational Responsibilities :

  1. Promote NTU Library and its rich resources to the NTU community so that users have a high awareness of the resources, services and facilities offered by the Library.
     
  2. Coordinate exhibitions held in NTU Library so as to increase the use of library resources through highlighting of interesting topics.
     

Work Experience :

Frank joined the CPF Board in 1994 as an executive assistant shortly after obtaining his first degree from NUS. He left the CPF Board to pursue a year-long Postgraduate Diploma in Education at NIE in 1995. After graduating from NIE, he embarked on his teaching career and taught for 11 years before he decided to make a career switch to library work. Frank worked in Carl East (S) Pte Ltd as a librarian for a year before joining NTU Library in Sep 2008. He is currently a librarian with the Library Promotion Division as well as the science librarian for chemistry.
