Subject librarian responsibilities :

1. Develop Chinese collection so that users can access relevant resources to support their teaching, learning and research activities.
    
2. Coordinate subject resources such as Chinese databases so that users are able to use information resources more effectively and efficiently.
    
3. Provide instruction on literature searching and information skills in subject areas to improve the users’ information literacy levels.
    
4. Provide consultation, reference and advisory services on information searching and resources so that users know how to use the library well.
    
5. Act as the liaison person for the Division of Chinese in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, inform users of the library’s resources and services, and get feedback.
     

Operational Responsibilities :

1. Catalogue library materials so that users can find and browse these materials systematically and easily using the library catalogue.
    
2. Perform authority control work to maintain consistency in the use of headings to facilitate more precise retrieval of catalogue records.
    
3. Manage and monitor bibliographic utilities to produce and maintain high quality catalogue records.
    

Work Experience :

Wei Yeow joined NTU Library in 2007 as Assistant Librarian working in the Bibliographic Services Division and Subject Librarian for Chinese studies (Contemporary China). He completed his Master in Information Studies and became a Librarian in 2010.
