NTU LIBRARY

NTU Library is a valuable partner in our users' pursuit towards excellence in learning and research. Our value lies in the valuable information resources, tools, services and facilities that we provide to all NTU staff and students.

Resources

We have a range of library materials that cater to various learning needs and preferences. Our print collection stands at more than 775,000 books now and is growing at about 22,000 volumes per year. Students and academic staff can borrow up to 10 and 40 books respectively at any one time. We have a good selection of audio visual materials, numbering about 32,000 items.

Our rich electronic resources comprise about 210 subscribed databases covering all disciplines and 48,000 unique e-journal titles. These e-resources can be accessed from anywhere - in dormitories, at your home and even when you are in another country. All you need is Internet access, a NTU network account and your password. We also make available the full-text of NTU student theses and examination papers in our Digital Repository.

Tools

To help you to exploit and use these resources, we provide you with a range of information finding and research tools. To look for books and AV materials you can search our Library Catalogue. The search will give you not only catalogue information but also images of book covers, content pages, book summaries and reviews and other useful information.

To look for articles, you can use a dedicated search engine or browse through issues of e-journals on line. We also provide you with tools to help you store, organize, format and annotate your search results. Other tools are constantly added to give you more power in using our library resources.

Services

Our friendly librarians will assist you in using library resources and tools and guide you to get the most out of the information world. We conduct popular classes on how to do literature reviews, find and use information effectively and understanding the scholarly communication environment. All our librarians specialize in various subject disciplines and can help you resolve information seeking problems in your subject areas. We also organize regular get-togethers with our users to obtain feedback and establish good working relationship.
