EndNote

EndNote Workshops [for NTU Students & Staff]

EndNote is a tool to help students and researchers record and manage a database of references to books, journal articles, figures and other publications. Students and researchers can use this personalized database to build bibliographies and automatically insert references to your Word document according to the reference style you have chosen.

The Library has designed three different workshops to cater to different types of users – Basic, Advanced and Mac users.

Academic writing with EndNote – Basic

This workshop provides an introduction and overview of EndNote as a bibliographic tool for writing of assignments, FYPs, thesis, etc. Participants will learn to:

1. Build an EndNote Library
    a. Manual input
    b. Export/Import citations
    c. Searching online library
        catalogues
2. Manage References
3. Set EndNote Preferences
4. Use EndNote’s Cite While You Write

This workshop is for participants with little or minimal knowledge of EndNote.

Academic writing with EndNote – Advanced

This workshop covers the advanced EndNote functionalities for managing and customising EndNote libraries. Participants will learn to:

1. Set EndNote Preferences
2. Import Term Lists
3. Create/Modify EndNote Styles
4. Use Composite Styles
5. Use EndNote Web

This workshop is for participants who have basic knowledge of EndNote.

Prerequisite for this workshop: Participants must be able to create an EndNote library and import/export citations from databases.

Academic writing with EndNote for Mac users

This workshop for Mac users provides an introduction and overview of EndNote as a bibliographic tool for writing of assignments, FYPs, thesis, etc. Participants will learn to:

This workshop is for Mac users with little or minimal knowledge of EndNote.
