Welcome to NTU's international web home.
Earlier this year, we linked up with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (in New York) for what I would describe as a "turbo" exchange program. A Colloquy on the RPI campus chaired by RPI President Shirley Jackson marked a successful and significant milestone in studying abroad.
In May, we ventured to Washington DC to participate in NAFSA and to connect with our present --and potential-- partners. Many many came by our booth, part of a larger "Singapore Education" Pavillion, and we thank you for making the time to meet with us.
Also in May, our 4th reciprocal summer exchange with top PRC institutions took flight --with our students this year going to Ren Da, Bei Da, and Shanghai Jiaotong as part of a 50-strong delegation from Singapore's tertiary institutions.
In June, for the fourth year running, NTU and Stanford enrolled students from all over the world for a jointly-taught masters degree in environmental engineering; students and faculty have the opportunity to cross borders and cultures in this unique, multidisciplinary program with teaching in Palo Alto and Singapore.
And in July, we were in Barcelona to break new ground and participate in ESOF (Euro Science Open Forum), Europe's biggest platform for science and innovation. We took the opportunity to talk about our Nanyang Assistant Professorships which will award one million SGD to promising young faculty --on top of a tenure track appointment. We will be back in Europe for this year's EAIE Conference in Belgium, and hope to see you in Antwerp.
As you can see, our faculty, students and managers are engaged in diverse teaching, service, and research collaboration with overseas partners. To get to know us better, we've designed this website to be a "soft landing". We trust that our activities --both abroad and at home-- will be of interest as you "click along".
Thank you once again for your interest in NTU.
