Quantum Cryptography

Quantum cryptography and especially quantum key distribution (QKD) are first applications of quantum information reaching into the domain of commercial applications.

In this short lecture course an introduction into QKD theory will be given. The theory comprises fundamental aspects of quantum key distribution, searching for the ultimate limit of QKD schemes, but also the analysis of optical implementations of QKD.

At the end of the course, the participants should be able to analyse critically and to put into context experimental and theoretical publications in the area of QKD.
