Information for Exhibitors

The Institute of Physics Singapore (IPS) is the principal leading professional body in Singapore for physicists. It has an elected council comprising of members from the local institutes, like the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, and the National Institute of Education. The IPS endeavors to promote physics education and research at all levels.

The IPS will be holding its inaugural IPS march Meeting on 6-7 March 2009 at the Nanyang Executive Center, expecting a large crowd of about 200 participants of active physicists.

As part of the annual meeting, there will be an exhibitor’s section in which the suppliers of scientific equipment could showcase their latest products. The exhibition will help companies to make valuable, one-on-one connections with the active scientists in the field, showcase their advances in research and technology, and offer solutions for equipment services and needs.

An advertisement in a magazine or a flyer in the mail could tell our members much about the companies’ products, but nothing compares to real conversation and genuine, authentic relationship building.

The rates for the exhibitor’s booth are as follows:

  • 3 m  × 3 m Booth             $500
  • 2.2 m  × 4.5 m Booth       $550
  • 3 m  × 6 m Booth             $900

Please refer to Exhibitors' Guide for further details.

For companies that plan to participate in the exhibition, please download the application form for further details.

Poster Guidelines

Presentation of a poster provides an opportunity for effective one-to-one communication. The longer presentation time of the poster session enables you to present a more in-depth description and discussion of your work.

To make a successful poster presentation:

1. Put your poster up at least 1/2 hour prior to the start of the poster session.

2. Your poster must correspond to the title and content of the abstract you submitted.

3. Your poster must be designed to fit within the confines of a 4' high x 8' wide poster board, and consist of materials that can be mounted easily with push pins.

4. Plan your poster to be in logical sequence, i.e. introduction, study design and methods, data collected, conclusion.

5. Posters should be designed for clear viewing from a distance of beyond 3' so that they can be viewed by a number of people at the same time.

6. To ensure visual effectiveness of your poster, use large lettering and a minimum of text.

7. Use of color can visually enhance your poster.

8. Remove your poster immediately at the close of the poster session.

Note: A-V is not allowed in poster sessions at the March annual meetings - posters should be displayed using effective printed visuals.
