Professor Kostya Ostrikov of School of Physics, University of Sydney, Australia will be visiting Institute of Advanced Studies, NTU as IAS visiting professor from 1-7 July 2007.

Prof. Ostrikov is an extraordinary talented physicist who holds a prestigious degree of Doctor of Science (by thesis) and numerous Fellowships, including Royal Society/NATO Postdoctoral Fellowship (UK), Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship (Germany), JSPS Invitation Research Fellowship(Professorial category, Japan) and Queen Elizabeth II Fellowship (Australia). His outstanding achievements and track records are highlighted by several monographs and more than 290 topical reviews and original papers in top-rank international research journals and proceedings of prestigious international conferences. The quality of his work makes him one of the most cited physicists in plasma nanoscience and complex system in the world. He is a sole author of an article on plasma-aided nanofabrication in Reviews of Modern Physics (RMP), the highest impact journal of IF32.771 in Physics. He is also the first Australian author of the RMP since 1997 (Source: ISI).
