I really enjoy the open source world of Linux and here are some places on the Web that I find particularly interesting.

  • Sourceforge
Sourceforge is the largest repository of Open Source code and applications available on the Internet. SourceForge.net provides free services to Open Source developers.
  • Freshmeat
Freshmeat is also an open source software site with in-depth reviews and introductions.
  • The table of equivalents / replacements / analogs of Windows software in Linux.
One of the biggest difficulties in migrating from Windows to Linux is the lack of knowledge about comparable software. Newbies usually search for Linux analogs of Windows software, and advanced Linux-users cannot answer their questions since they often don't know too much about Windows :). This list of Linux equivalents / replacements / analogs of Windows software is based on our own experience and on the information obtained from the visitors of this page. I also mirrored a local version for you convenience.
  • http://www.osnews.com/ Everything about operating system.
  • http://www.linuxiso.org/ Find the ISO image for your favorite Linux distribution.
  • http://www.distrowatch.com/ Discussion and information of almost all Linux distribution.
