I hold a PhD in Computer Science. My main areas of research interest are NLP and sentiment analysis. At present, I work as a presidential postdoctoral fellow at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.


My days are spent mostly with arxiv articles, conference proceedings, matrices, probability, calculus, Pytorch and Keras! Ah yes! and reading and replying to emails :)

My team's present research focus is detecting emotions in conversations, empathetic dialogue generation. We often release data and codes of our publications. You may take a look at mine and my team's Github pages.


I received an early career research award called NTU president postdoctoral fellowship in 2018 which offers me a grant worth US$150,000. I am also an adjunct faculty as IIIT Delhi, India and an adjunct scientist at A*STAR, Singapore. I often serve as a PC member in reputed conferences such as EMNLP, AAAI, IJCAI, NAACL etc. I will serve NAACL 2019 as an area co-chair of sentiment analysis track. In March 2018, I gave a keynote talk at a large international NLP conference CICLing. I have Google Scholar citations of more than 3000 and my h-index is 32. Three of my papers are listed as Web of Science highly cited papers in the field of Computer Science. Recently, in an article published in Journal of Information Sciences, I have been listed as one of the most prolific and impactful researchers from 2000 to 2016 in the field of sentiment analysis.
