PhD Opening

PhD Studentships

Two (2) positions are open for PhD candidates, who will work with Dr. Lau in one of the following projects on actuators:

1. Biomimetic flight muscles for micro-air-vehicles (MAV)
2. Polymeric thermal micro-actuators for hard disk drives (HDD)
3. Electroactive polymer micro-actuators for cellular-mechanics testing

Requirements

All prospective graduate student applicants, who feel that they can contribute to research of MEMS (Micro-electromechanical-Systems) and EAP (Electroactive Polymers), are welcome to apply for the studentships. They should have a good degree in one of the engineering or science disciplines, such as aerospace, mechanical, civil, electrical, or chemical engineering, bio-engineering; material science, applied physics.
