Dr. Sheel Aditya received the B.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, India, in 1974 and 1979, respectively. From 1979 to 2001, he held academic positions ranging from Lecturer to Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Delhi. Since 2001, he has been an Associate Professor with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He has held visiting assignments at Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg, Sweden; Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India; Florida State University, Tallahassee; and Nanyang Technological University. He has been involved in a number of research and development projects and is the coholder of four patents in India and Singapore. His research interests are planar microwave waveguides and antennas, microwave photonics, and optical fiber communication. He was the General Chair of ICICS 2011 (International Conference on Information, Communications, and Signal Processing, December 2011, Singapore).
