Vinod A Prasad received his B. Tech degree in instrumentation and control
engineering from N.S.S.College of Engineering,
Palakkad, University of
Calicut, Vinod’s research interests include digital signal processing,
low power and reconfigurable DSP circuits, software defined radio, cognitive
radio and brain-computer interface. He has secured research
grants from Ministry of Education (MOE), Ministry of Defense (MINDEF),
DSO National Labs, European Aeronautic Defence & Space Company (EADS)
Singapore, Embassy of France in Singapore, UK High commission (Singapore) and
Singapore Millennium Foundation (SMF), amounting over S$1 million as
principal investigator. He has published 143 papers in
refereed international journals and conferences. Currently, Vinod is leading
a research
team of 2 Postdoctoral Research Fellows, 9 PhD Students and 1 M. Eng.
Student in Centre for High Performance Embedded Systems (CHiPES), NTU. He is a Senior Member
of IEEE and an Editor of International Journal of Advancements in
Computing Technology (IJACT). He has won the Nanyang
Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2009, the
highest recognition conferred by NTU to individual faculty who have exhibited
excellent teaching practice and enriched the learning experiences of their
students through their enthusiasm, care and close rapport. He has also been
voted by students as the Best Lecturer
(Year-2) of School of Computer Engineering four years
consecutively – 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. He is the Chair of SCE Student Outreach
