Funded projects

Current:

  • pCloud: Privacy in data value chains using peer-to-peer primitives (Principal Investigator, Thematic Strategic Research Program ~ 1000K S$ funded by Singapore's A*STAR for August 2010 - July 2013)
  • mTeam: A Creative Environment For Mobile Knowledge Workers (Principal Investigator, Singapore-Poland scientific collaboration ~ 558K S$ funded by Singapore's A*STAR for March 2008 - February 2011)
  • CrowdStore: A self-managing secure decentralized storage cloud with fine-grained access control (Principal Investigator ~ 100K S$ funded by NTU/MoE's AcRF Tier-1 Grant for March 2010 - February 2012)
  • ASCII: A storage centric internet infrastructure (Principal Investigator ~ 30000 € funded under Merlion 2009 Franco-Singaporean collaboration grant for 2010 - 2011 to support collaboration with Eurecom)

Past:

  • P2P overlay support for ubiquitous Web 2.0 (Principal Investigator, Start up Grant 9.5K S$)
  • Understanding and exploiting the dynamics of collaboration ecosystems (Principal Investigator, HP Labs (Tokyo, Japan) Innovation Research Program [IRP] ~ 54K US$ funding for August 2008 - Jan 2010)

Internal projects & collaborations

Current:

  • PeerSoN: Peer-to-Peer Infrastructure for Social Networking Applications is an informal collaboration with researchers in KTH (Sweden), and the agenda for this project is arguably over-ambitious. We'll see ;-)

Past:

  • SSNet: Aims to develop models, algorithms, systems and tools to unravel the behavioral knowledge about online user communities, particularly in open collaborative systems like Wikipedia. The project is funded by A*Star, however my participation is as an informal collaborator.

EPFL (past) projects

Internal projects:

  • P-Grid: Structured overlay network with trie abstraction and support for arbitrary load skews. A major part of my PhD. was related to the core algorithms being used in P-Grid.

Funded projects:

  • NCCR MICS: As a PhD. student in EPFL I participated in the Swiss National Center of Competence in Research on Mobile Information and Communication Systems.
  • Evergrow: As a PhD. student I participated in the Evergrow EU project which studied ever-growing global scale-free networks and the design of the internet for 2025!
