Financial Assistance

Students may pursue the financial opportunities that the university has put together to help meet expenses overseas. They include:

1. Scholarships

The following scholarships are available:

Ng Bok Eng Scholarship

Open to all countries under the GIP. The value of this award ranges from S$1100 to S$3000 and is applicable to Singaporean and Singapore PR only.

French Embassy Scholarship

Open to students participating in programmes to France only. The value of this award ranges from S$1000 to S$2200.

International Business Fellowship Scheme

The International Business Fellowship (IBF) scheme by International Enterprise Singapore aims to develop a pool of talents with in-depth knowledge of the business environment in emerging Asian markets. The programme supports the training of Singaporeans to acquire business knowledge and build networks in the supported markets of China, India, the Middle East, and Vietnam.

IBF works on a co-funding arrangement which offers partial subsidy of up to $100 per week for selected students participating in GIP in approved cities in China, India and Vietnam. A portion of the subsidy will come from other scholarships available for GIP e.g. Ng Bok Eng Scholarships.

Students may receive up to $5000 in total from Ng Bok Eng Scholarship and IBF Scheme.

Singapore Indian Education Trust (SIET) GIP Scholarship

The Singapore Indian Education Trust (SIET) is an organisation dedicated to helping needy and deserving Singapore Indians advance in their education by giving them financial assistance.  Established in 1967, the Trust has grown from strength to strength helping thousands of children and young adults meet their aspirations through the gift of education.

SIET is pleased to sponsor two SIET GIP Scholarships which are open to all countries under the GIP. The value of each award is S$5000 and is applicable to Singaporeans and Singapore PR of Indian descent only.

Temasek Foundation - NTU LEaRN Programme 

The Temasek Foundation and NTUhave jointly established a LEaRN Programme for undergraduate students. The acronym stands for Leadership Enrichment and Regional Networking.

The objective of the programme is to build capacities and leadership capabilities of students through inbound and outbound immersion awards. The Outbound Immersion Awards enable high calibre NTU undergraduates to study and undergo professional attachment in selected countries in Asia. This will provide them a total experiential learning opportunity and gain an early start in building regional connections and gain cultural intelligence. It is linked to NTU's successful Global Immersion Programme (GIP).

GIP students selected for the TF-NTU LEaRN Programme (Outbound Immersion Awards) in 2009 will receive $4250 each and this award is appliable to Singaporeans and Singapore PR only.

2. Loans

A student is expected to incur a certain amount of living and travelling expenses within Singapore if she/he spends a semester in NTU. As such, the loan is expected to cover a substantial amount of the additional living and travelling expenses while overseas.

Students may apply for the maximum amount of loan but the final quantum awarded will depend on each applicant’s overall financial situation.
