Programme Period

  • 2-week Winter Immersion in Suzhou, China
  • From 4 December to 18 December 2011 

Programme Highlights

  • Attend classes conducted in English or Chinese* by Soochow University
  • Visit Ancient Street, Famous Gardens, Water township, Industrial Park
  • Visit HangZhou, Shanghai’s Pearl Tower, The Bund, and more
  • Appreciation of traditional arts and crafts

*Classes will only be conducted in English or Chinese. The medium of instruction will be decided at a later date; based on the applicants' preference and other administrative considerations.

Academic Matters

  • 3 AUs will be awarded upon successful completion of this programme
  • Students may use these AUs for either their GER-PE (AHSS) or GER-UE

Basic Requirements

  • NTU undergraduates
  • At least 10 years of former Chinese Language education (for classes conducted in Chinese Language)

Selection Criteria

  • Priority will be given to Singaporeans
  • Priority will be given to current final year students, followed by first year students (who have not participated in any overseas programme)
  • Selection will be based on meritocracy and evaluation by schools (if necessary)
  • Good proportion of students from the 4 NTU colleges, Engineering, Business, Science, and Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. We try to have a good balance of students representing NTU and Singapore
