| On 2 August 2008, the International Olympic Committee announced it had accepted the proposal by the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC) to host the Youth Olympic Village at NTU’s 200-hectare campus.
Following that announcement, plans for comprehensive refurbishment and upgrading works to 10 Halls of Residence, the Graduate Hall along with the cluster of facilities at NTU’s Sports & Recreation were quickly drawn up. Upgraded residential facilities include newly fitted-up rooms, lounges, pantries, shower rooms and toilet areas. At the village square in NIE, renovation works are also carried out in full swing to spruce-up the premises. |
