NTU has actively contributed to the National Science Challenge 2009 for the past five years - providing outdoor locations, faculty members to set the questions, as well as judges for the studio demonstration round. The Challenge is a seven-episode science game show that aims to spark an interest in science among students as well as members of the public. The show will be telecast in half-hour weekly slots on MediaCorp TV Channel 5 every Tuesday (7.30pm to 8pm) from 18 Aug to 29 Sep 2009.
Reprising his role for the fourth time as chairman of the judges and resident judge is Associate Professor David Butler from the College of Engineering. This year, Professor Kerry Sieh, Director of the Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) and Associate Professor Daniel Tan, Director of the Centre for Educational Development, will also appear as guest judges. In addition, the EOS hosted the three semi-finalist teams for the sixth episode, which will be telecast on Tuesday, 22 Sep 2009. Tune in to the episodes every Tuesday and be inspired as you journey through the world of science.
