Biography

Junhui Hu received his Ph.D. from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan, in 1997, and B. E. and M. E. degrees in electrical engineering from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 1986 and 1989, respectively. He is currently an associate professor at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.Dr. Hu was a research engineer at the R&D Center of NEC-Tokin, Sendai, Japan, from Nov. 1997 to Feb. 1999, a research fellow and postdoctoral fellow at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, HK SAR, China, from 1999 to 2001, and an assistant professor at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, from 2001 to 2005. His present research interest includes piezoelectric actuators, ultrasonic manipulations of small particles and liquid, piezoelectric transformers and phase shifters, energy harvesting by piezoelectric devices, transducers and other electromechanical devices. Dr. Hu won the Paper Prize from the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers ( Japan) in 1998, and is the author and co-author of sixteen disclosed patents. He is a member of IEEE and the Acoustic Society of Japan.
