Process to Seek External Funding

Personal Data Protection Act
The Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (the “PDPA”) is intended to be a baseline law for the protection of personal data in Singapore. The PDPA came into force on 2 July 2014. All employees, students and agents of the University must comply with the PDPA. PDPA is not applicable to Business Contact Information (BCI). If you are seeking donations from individual donor, please request the donor to complete the donation form which contains the personal data protection clauses and consent.
Important Note:
In seeking external funding, students may approach the Lee Foundation which has a strong focus on needy and worthwhile educational causes. The address of the Lee Foundation is 65 Chulia Street, #44-01 OCBC Centre, Singapore 049513.
Students, however, should avoid writing to the following organisations which have very specific funding parameters that may not relate to the students’ project objectives and causes:
a) Lien Foundation
b) Tan Chin Tuan Foundation
c) Hong Leong Foundation
d) Ho Bee Investments
e) Temasek Foundation
f) Keppel Corporation
g) Shaw Foundation
When in doubt, students should approach the Student Affairs Office (SAO) which is in a better position to assess and coordinate funding requests from students groups and organisations.
