 Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory Option (S/U)

The Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (S/U) option allows a scholar to take a course on an ungraded basis.

The course will be indicated as "S" if the final grade obtained is a "C" or better, otherwise the course will be graded "Unsatisfactory" (U).

Courses read on the S/U basis will not be included in the CGPA. However, the AU earned will be accumulated towards the total AU requirement.

Scholars may exercise the option for up to:

  • 19 AUs for CN Yang Scholars Programme core curriculum
  • 12 AUs for 4-year programme based on the university and school's policies

Scholars must fulfill the following minimum number of AUs of graded courses in order to be awarded their degree:

  • 77 AUs for a 4-year programme
