Student Password and PIN 

For new students, the initial password is set to the matriculation number (with all alphabets in upper-case). You must change this initial password within 7 days after the issue of account.

Changing Your Network Account Password
Please follow the steps below:

  1. Start the Web browser program (e.g. Internet Explorer) and do one of the following:
    * Access the NTU webmail https://webmail.ntu.edu.sg, click on left menu "Change My Network Account Password". 
    * Access the CITS' website>Change Password
    * Under Broswer's Address, type https://pwd.ntu.edu.sg/ and hit the <enter> key.

  2. You should see a screen with a heading of "Network Account Password Changer". 
    Enter the following under the fields shown on the screen:

      Field  What you should do
    Domain Select Student 
    Username  Type your network account username.
    Old Password Type your password.
    New Password Type a new password of your choice.  It must be between 8 to 14 characters long. It is case-sensitive, i.e. to the computer system, lower-case letter 'a' is different from upper-case letter 'A'.
    Re-Confirm New Password Type the same password that you have entered above.
    Change Now Click on the button.  If you are successful, you should see this message "Your password has been changed".

  3. Reboot your PC after changing the password.


Resetting Your Network Account Password via SMS
Should you forget your network account password, you may reset it through SMS (Short Message Service) from your mobile phone. This is possible only if you have first registered your mobile phone number with us. Please refer to this section for details and other means of resetting your password. After the password has been reset, you are advised to change this password using the above steps to something more secure and not known to others at your earliest convenience.


Changing Your StudentLink/GSLink PIN
StudentLink/GSLink account ID and PIN is used only for access to certain web-based StudentLink/GSLink services: checking of examination results. Most web-based StudentLink/GSLink services require only the network account username and password to access.

The StudentLink/GSLink account ID is the student's matriculation/registration number.
The initial StudentLINK/GSLink PIN is set to the student's date of birth in DDMMYYYY format.  Students are advised to change the PIN within 7 days after the start of the new semester.

mportant Notes on Password/PIN

  • You are required to keep your network account password and StudentLink/GSLink PIN confidential at all times. Should you suspect another person of using your account, you should change your password or PIN, and report this to the Centre for IT Services immediately. Never reveal your password to anyone, including technical support personnel. CITS will never request for your network account password or StudentLink/GSLink PIN for any reason.

  • For security reasons, you have to change your password and PIN every 180 days.

  • The network account password and GSLink PIN must consist of alphabets (case-sensitive) and/or digits and it must be between 8 to 14 characters long. The StudentLINK PIN must consist of numbers only and it must be between 8 to 14 digits long.

  • When selecting a new password or PIN, do not reuse your existing or previous passwords or PINs. Select a new password or PIN that you can remember, and yet is tough for others to guess. Do not use the name of a person or a place as your password.

  • For security reasons, account will be locked after 6 wrong entries of password or PIN. Locked account will only be re-activated upon request by the account owner at the CITS Service Counter at the Academic Cluster, Block N2.1, level B1 during office hours.
