Getting Started for New Students
  1. Campus-wide Wired and Wireless Connection
NTU has high-speed campus-wide wired and wireless computer networks. There are over 25,000 network points and over 20,000 networked personal computers for use by students and staff throughout the campus. Students may remotely connect to the campus network via about 150 dial-up lines or via subscribed services from external Internet Service Providers. Every student hostel room is also equipped with network points. Find out from the Set Up My Computer section on the recommended computer specifications and how to configure your computer to use it on campus or from home. These include the settings of network card, web broswer, Outlook client, VPN and network printer.

  2. Life-long NTU Mailbox and Personalised Email Address
Every student is given a NTU email box with 100MB storage which can be retained even after graduation. A student's default email address is his network account username appended by @ntu.edu.sg. Students may personalise their email addresses, however, the personalised email address will end with @pmail.ntu.edu.sg. The email box can be accessed via Outlook Client (part of Microsoft Office suite of programs) or Outlook Web Access through a regular web browser like Internet Explorer. Find out more from the Email & Messaging section.

  3. Free e-Newsletter and Mailing Lists Subscription
Students can access the Public Folders, subscribe to free NTU e-newsletters or Mailing Lists to get up-to-date information and announcements on the subjects of interest. You will receive new issues of the subscribed e-newsletters in your mailbox. Notifications will also be sent to your email account whenever a new posting or announcement is posted to the mailing lists you subscribed. To keep students updated on the important announcements and latest events on campus, all undergraduates are automatically subscribed to the followings:
