Each staff is issued with a network account with username and password for access to the Internet, electronic mailing services, personal portal myNTU, including web-based StaffLink services in the University portal. StaffLink services are e-services for staff such as update of personal particulars, holiday leave application, electronic pay advice and claims for medical/dental/transport expenses. Each staff is allocated 1.2GB for email storage, 10MB for personal webpage storage and 1GB for MySite online storage.
Each new staff is assigned a network username by CITS when he first joins the University. The initial password for each new network account is randomly generated. New staff is informed of the network account username and password by the Office of Human Resources.
A new staff must change his password within 7 days after the issue of the account. Failure to do so will result in account suspension. This measure is necessary to safeguard the security of the new account. Suspended account will only be re-activated upon re-registration by the staff at the CITS (Centre for IT Services) Service Counter at the Academic Cluster, Block N2.1, level B1 during office hours. Subsequently, the password must be changed every 180 days.
