VPN (Virtual Private Network)
Note: You do
not need to connect to VPN to access resources on the NTU network if you are staying within NTU Campus or have already connected to NTUSECURE wireless network.
Setting Up SSL VPN (Virtual Private Network) for Windows/Mac OS/Linux
To VPN to NTU network from the Internet, you'll need:
- A laptop or desktop PC
- Internet connection from your ISP (Internet Service Provider) if connecting from home.
- Supported OS and Pre-requisite: Refer to listing on the Portal
Note: You do not need to connect to VPN to access resources on the network if you are staying within NTU Campus or have already connected to NTUSECURE wireless network.
Connecting to VPN
First time connection: On a web browser (eg Firefox, IE 7/8 or Safari), go to NTU Homepage (URL:
www.ntu.edu.sg), click "NTU VPN" under QuickLinks or type
ntuvpn.ntu.edu.sg on a Web Browser.
(Note: The VPN server will install the VPN client on the PC. Please refer to the guide on the portal for installation instruction).
Tips: Use the
off-line installation method for quick and easy installation.
For subsequent access: You can use the VPN client to access the VPN. The VPN Client ( look for the icon) on the bottom left corner of the screen or on the taskbar
Signing Out of VPN
icon found on the bottom left corner of the screen or on the task bar and select sign-out
or Click "Sign out" on the SSL VPN home web-page.
Get the latest patch from Microsoft website
Always remember to update your notebook/desktop with the latest critical patches that are made available from Microsoft website at
