No scheduled VPN system maintenance.
Login Format
Use the following format when prompted for identification when you dial-in or vpn into NTU network:
(for student account holders)
username: student\xxxx
password: zzzz
or
(for staff account holders)
username: staff\xxxx
password: zzzz
or
(for assoc account holders who are corporate users. Alumni are not corporate users)
username: assoc\xxx
password: zzzz
where xxx is your userid and zzzz is your user password
Dial-up Session
Each dial-up session is limited to only one hour of usage for students and corporate users dialing to the "hunting" line 67946301.
Staff accessing the dedicated staff line 67935877 or the "hunting" line 67946301 are allowed three hours of usage. Once your session limit is up, your call will automatically be disconnected.
There are however no limits on the number of dial-up sessions you can make a day.
Please note that we may monitor the dial-up usage and any abuse of the dial-up service may result in revocation of your dial-up privileges.
Guard against "Modem Jacking"
Don't let your modems be "hijacked" and get charged exorbitant sums for calls you didn't make. Start by not installing billing/payment programs from untrusted sites.

Virtual Private Networking (VPN) Session
Each VPN connection session is limited to only three hours. There are however no limits on the number of sessions you can connect per day.
Please note that any abuse of the VPN service may result in revocation of your account privileges.
If VPN connection to NTU is unsuccessful, please disable any firewall or 'Internet Connection Sharing' that may hinder the VPN communication between your computer and the NTU VPN server.
Always remember to update your notebook/desktop with the latest critical patches made available from Microsoft website at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
