Windows LIVE for STUDENTS and ALUMNI

NTU had upgraded all student and alumni mailboxes to Windows LIVE. You'll get to enjoy premium services offered by Windows LIVE from a 10GB mailbox to 7GB of Skydrive (online storage), and more. For new application of free lifelong alumni email wef 1 March 2011, the mailboxes will also be on Windows LIVE.  For students who had just graduated, you also have the option to keep this Windows LIVE account as your free lifelong alumni mailbox. On Windows LIVE you'll get to enjoy the following premium services:


MS Outlook Live
10GB of email quota in a richer and better graphical interface - now come with customizable themes if you access it from internet Explorer!

Allows you to access your emails - pushed to your mobile phones like iphone, andriods, ipads!

Windows LIVE Skydrive 		7GB of online storage accessible on the Internet. You can keep personal files private - accessible only to yourself or share other files with friends and classmates when working on team projects, etc.


Office Web Apps

 Online companions to Word, Excel, PowerPoint & OneNote - access, view and edit your online documents from home, the classroom, the library, or virtually any PC or Mac that is connected to the Internet

Windows LIVE Messenger		 This instant messaging clients lets you chat with your friends and classmates when they are online. A basic mode of messenger is also available in MS Outlook Live via the web browser too - allowing you to access your emails and chat at the same time!

Windows LIVE Essentials

Extend your Windows LIVE with Windows LIVE Essentials add-ons (requires Windows VISTA or better) - providing you great and easy to use tools for organizing, touching up, and sharing your photos and videos or creating stunning panoramas, movies, and slide shows, and publish them online with just a few clicks.

How Does the Migration Affect Existing Students or Alumni? (Not Applicable to New Students)

There will be no change to your existing NTU Network Account or password i.e. STUDENT\username or ASSOC\username which you will still continue to use to logon to NTU e-Services like Library e-Services, Wireless LAN Authentication, Common PCs, etc.

FOR EXISTING STUDENT or ALUMNI MAILBOXES

You will be issued with a new Windows LIVE Account (with same username) to allow you to access Windows LIVE services.


 

However once your mailbox is migrated over to Windows LIVE, your existing NTU mailbox will be terminated i.e. you will not be able to access your NTU Exchange emails via WEBMAIL or OUTLOOK.

Which Account to Use?

Each student is issued with 2 accounts: (1) Network account; (2) Windows LIVE account.

To access NTU e-Services (StudentLINK, GSLink, edveNTUre, Library e-Services, Wireless LAN Authentication, VPN, etc.), please use your Network Account username and password to logon. 

To access Windows LIVE services, please enter the username in the form username@e.ntu.edu.sg
